Bighorn River Fly Fishing Reports
Bighorn Fishing Report 10/12/2020
Current Conditions
The fishing on the Bighorn is good once again. Clarity has improved significantly the last week. Nymphing and streamer fishing have been the best methods for catching fish by far. Fish a large crayfish or sculpin pattern as a lead fly with a flashy attractor off the back. Stripping thin profile streamers has also been an excellent choice. Red San Juan worms with a hot bead and orange sowbugs can be deadly here as well so don't leave without some of these in your box. Tricos are happening along with pseudos but not many fish are coming to the surface. Beatis will be fun in november on the Bighorn.

The Bighorn has been fishing well this last week. Nymphing has been the best method to catch fish but a few fish have been tricked with midge dries and streamers. Nymphing with sowbugs/scuds and midges have been the most effective. The dry fly action has potential but just needs some relatively calm conditions for fish to start looking up. Streamer fishing has been effective dredging the bottom of big deep holes with darker flies and a sink tip.
