Igniter Rod Review 990-4 | Bozeman Fly Shop

After a couple days of fishing for redfish in Louisiana using the new Sage Igniter 9wt. it is easy to say that this rod is a great saltwater stick. Using Sage’s proprietary Konnetic High Density technology, this rod sports unprecedented accuracy and feel for such a fast action fly rod. I found placing a fly in front of reds almost effortless even within 20 feet of the flats boat. Casting large water logged crab patterns did not take the effort one would imagine using this 9’ 9wt. Igniter. For those who don’t know about the Konnetic HD technology Sage is using to provide an angler with exceptional control on their high-end rods here is a brief description.

“KonneticHD Technology is the next era in performance graphite rods. Optimizing our graphite-to-resin ratio, we have created a higher density (HD) fiber composite, resulting in lighter, stronger blanks which deliver unmatched recovery, energy transfer, and line/loop control. Building upon proprietary construction techniques developed for Konnetic Technology, KonneticHD gives us an elevated platform to achieve new levels in rod design.”
