2021 Employment Opportunities at Fins & Feathers
Whether you are interested in becoming a guide or working in a fast paced retail environment, Fins & Feathers is now looking for valuable employees for the 2021 season!
Fins & Feathers is now accepting applications for seasonal work within our operation including positions in our Bozeman fly shop, our “FlyFishTruck”, and our guided fly-fishing trips. These positions are seasonal (approx. May 15 – Sept. 15). Please see below for brief job descriptions of each and stop by our fly shop to pick up an application.
Shop Staff
Fly shop staff
are responsible for helping customers with everything from choosing the right fly to booking guided trips. A working knowledge of the area’s rivers, access points, entomology, and fly-fishing are required. The
ideal candidate is an outgoing individual with previous retail experience. The position is typically part-time through the end of June and then full-time through mid-September. Wages are competitive with
other retail positions in the area and will depend on previous experience and availability during the peak season.
FlyFishTruck
The FlyFishTruck is our mobile fly shop and fly-fishing classroom. We have a wide range of events throughout the area during the summer months and are looking to bring on 1-2 part-time staff members to assist with both the fly shop and the truck classes and events. Ideal candidates will have a similar skill set to the applicants for the fly shop staff. Scheduling flexibility and the ability to communicate and engage people are key components for these positions.

Fly Fishing Guides
We are looking to add a few guides to our current staff of professional fly-fishing guides
in the Bozeman area. Guides need to be registered independent contractors, have commercial auto insurance, current first-aid, appropriate vehicle, and their own boat and equipment. Opportunities exist for part or full-time work from late June through the end of September. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 seasons of previous experience guiding. Applicants with previous experience as guides in Southwest Montana will be given preference. Most of our trips are out of drift boats, so guides with drift-boat experience will be given preference. Applicants are welcome to drop-off a brief resume along with their appropriate paperwork prior to April 15, 2020, for consideration. We will be conducting interviews throughout the spring with qualified applicants.
Stop by the shop to drop off your resume and cover letter or include them in an email to info@finsandfeathersonline.com. We review applications on a regular basis and keep them on file for one year from the time of application. Previous applicants are encouraged to re-apply as well.
