Spring BWO’s

Birds chirping, warming weather, baetis hatching, and trout rising are all promising indicators that spring has arrived in Bozeman. Dry fly fishing reports have been really good the last few days between the Madison, Gallatin, and even the Yellowstone. If you have the chance to get out on an overcast, windless day this week, odds are you will find a significant baetis hatch and trout eating these tasty insects on the waters surface. With dry fly fishing finally underway here are our Bozeman fly shop’s five favorite patterns for fly fishing the BWO hatch.
