Bozeman Fly Shop Life | First Week of May 2016
The first week of May brought with it some great weather, solid fishing, and good times on the waters around Southwest Montana with the fly fishing guides at Fins & Feathers of Bozeman. The Mother’s Day Caddis hatch eased off later in the week as the Yellowstone River started to become unfishable once again, but the lower Madison has continued to hang in there as a reliable option. The fly shop has been busy with folks starting to come in and picking up some new gear for season ahead; fly lines, fly reels, and wading boots seemed to be pretty popular this week. Our Bozeman fly shop staff has grown in recent weeks and we are excited to have some the new faces and some fresh energy. As the runoff gets going in full swing this coming week, expect some limited fishing options on the big rivers but don’t forget that this is a great time to get out and explore some area lakes, spring creeks, and regional tailwaters.
