Bozeman Fly Shop News | June 6

Just back from a whirlwind weekend that started off with the unveiling of the Flyfishtruck last Saturday and ended with business meetings around noon yesterday near Ashton Idaho. So, yes, I am looking forward to a few days of calm to recharge the batteries. There has been a ton of exciting stuff coming down the pipe lately and here is a quick recap!

The Flyfishtruck debut and our first customer!

  • The Flyfishtruck has its own webpage and we are using #flyfishtruck as the Instagram hashtag for posts at this time. A public schedule of events will be posted shortly. If you are looking for a fly fishing class for a specific group or event, contact us about availability and pricing.
  • The Madison River is clearing! Flows are still very high, but we are seeing visibility and fishing improve. Expect good things in the next 7-10 days provided that conditions continue to improve.
  • We have been inundated with new products for the season in the last week. Things like flies, new apparel, more fly tying, and just more fun gear and accessories.
  • I had the chance to fish the Henry’s Fork near Ashton, Idaho a couple of days earlier in the week and had a blast fishing big dries. We even managed to get a few nice fish to eat dry flies

Thanks for all of your support and please stop by our Bozeman fly shop and check in the next time you are on your way to the river. We have some new faces to go with the old curmudgeons that hold up the walls in the winter! The weather has been stunning, and the fishing will be here soon enough with big bugs and Salmonflies showing up on the lower Madison very soon.
