The morning drive over the Gallatin was particularly nice this morning. I expected to see just a bit of open water and slush ice covering the surface but was surprised to see things not looking terrible. Although, “not terrible” is far from inviting, the Gallatin River did look fishable this morning and I imagine even looks better at this point in the day. With temperatures in the high 20’s this week being called for by those in the know, I imagine more than one local angler will be heading that way once or twice over the coming days.
