European-style nymph fishing has been rapidly growing in popularity as a primary style of fly fishing for modern anglers in the western USA. Simple in theory, the beauty and effectiveness of “Euro-Nymph” fly fishing lies in the details of reading water coupled with understanding the subtle nuances of modern fly tackle.
Fly Fishing Team USA members Josh Graffam and Russ Miller are among the best competitive fly-fishing anglers in the world and will be the instructors for this informative day along the Gallatin River at Fins & Feathers Upstream. As key employees of Umpqua Feather Merchants, they have been instrumental in bringing modern European Style fly-fishing to the western USA.

- 8:00-8:30 AM – Arrival and Registration
- 9:00 – 10:30 AM – European Style Nymph Fishing Overview & Introduction (classroom setting)
- 11:00 – 12:00 PM – Modern Gear Demo and Strategies

- 1:00 – 3:00 PM – On the Water Demonstration of Techniques and Strategies
Join our staff and sponsors, Umpqua Feather Merchants with Sage Fly Fishing, on July 27thfor a day of exploring and understanding the various methods of modern European Style Nymph fishing at Fins & Feathers Upstream on the Gallatin River.
We have several acres of riverside property for the day and will be providing a BBQ lunch along with some non-alcoholic beverages. As the attendance for the events grows, we will add multiple classroom and demonstration sessions led by Russ and Josh to ensure that everyone has some small group time with these two amazing anglers.
