Gallatin River Salmonflies

THEY ARE HERE. SALMONFLIES. GALLATIN RIVER.

The river is still in great shape, with that beautiful green color and a few feet of visibility. Tie on your favorite adult salmonfly pattern — we like the Emma Stone, Flutterbug and Morningwood Special — and fish the river. If fish aren’t rising around you, drop a big stonefly nymph, like a Pat’s Rubberlegs, off the back of your dry fly. We’ve also been seeing some PMD and caddis hatching as well. Other nymphs to try would be a San Juan worm, Copper John or Hare’s Ear. The river is in excellent shape, please get after it!

OUR NEW FLY SHOP IS LOCATED IN THE GALLATIN CANYON – ON THE BANK OF THE RIVER – AT MILE MARKER 55.5 ON HIGHWAY 191! OPEN EVERYDAY FROM 9:00 AM to 4:30 MOST DAYS UNTIL THE RUNOFF ENDS STOP IN FOR THE HOT BUGS!

Check out the Webcam on the back of our shop for current water conditons too. >>> WEBCAM HERE
