Happy 4th Fishing

Happy 4th of July to everyone! We’re here at the shop until 5 pm and then heading out for evening fireworks and BBQ’s.

The fishing you ask? The lower Madison continues to be nymphing well and we’ve even been getting some fish on attractor dries fished from the boat as well. It’s going to be a zoo over there this weekend, so go early to avoid the masses. Salmonflies are out on the upper Madison and are now mostly between MacAtee and the Pine Butte area, with some to be found above and below. If Salmonflies on the upper is your wish this weekend, foucs on the the upper wade sections and go early there too. Evening caddis fishing has been good throughout the river. The Yellowstone is close to being good and skilled anglers can expect to get some fish from the boat there this weekend. Then there is always the Gallatin.
