Help Us “Kick Plastic” on Montana Rivers

Reducing the use of plastics has been a hot topic in the conservation world over the last few years. So many plastic bottles end up on the sides of the road, rivers, or the oceans (not to mention the landfills). We all know it and see if every day, and most people today also know that that those bottle practically last forever. One of our goals for 2017 has been to find ways that we can make a meaningful reduction in our plastics use as fly shop and fly fishing guide service in Bozeman, Montana. In addition to reducing our use of plastics, we have also stepped up our recycling efforts by having a dedicated recycling bin on site.

  • We have switched to cardboard fly cubes rather than the traditional plastic serving cups
  • We now use Aluminum water bottles instead of plastic ones on our guide trips

These two items alone help us to substantially reduce our use of plastics by ourselves and our customers. Business and industry partners such as Costa and AFFTA make efforts like these possible by sourcing and subsidizing these efforts. Thank you for helping us reduce the use of plastics and know that we take this topic seriously and are always looking for ways to help keep our rivers, lakes, and oceans clean forever! Please watch the video by Costa below to help get a better understanding of this topic’s scope.
