How to Tie a Pat’s Rubberleg | Bozeman Fly Shop
Spring means active stoneflies, which means trout will be crushing these aquatic critters. The Pat’s Rubberleg is not a particularly natural looking stonefly but it is one of the most effective patterns when it comes to tricking fish that have been eating skwalla or salmonfly nymphs all day. Just by changing the color of your chenille and the size of your hook it is easy to imitate different types of stonefly nymphs. Here is our Bozeman fly shop‘s own, Steven Rendle, and the way he ties one of our favorite spring nymphs, the Pat’s Rubberleg.
