The Carey Special is a classic pattern that was developed in 1925 and typically fished in ponds and lakes. This fly effectively imitates many different types of aquatic prey and works well in rivers both dead drifted or on the swing. Here is a quick video of Steven from our Bozeman fly shop, teaching us how to tie the Carey Special.
