Madison River Update

I was out looking for dogs and cats yesterday and stopped a few times to check out the Madison in a few places. The Upper was very slushy up by town with a little shelf ice. The Lower just had a few floating chucks, but lots of shelf ice and some anchor ice left on the bottom near the banks. The highs will be peaking above freezing for the next couple days, so don’t anticipate the ice conditions to improve. There should be some good fishing opportunities in the early to mid afternoons though, during the warmest part of the day, when freezing guides shouldn’t be much of an issue.
