Midging in the Wind

It’s been windy around here lately – the midges don’t care! It seems to be a pretty common misconception that midges don’t hatch on windy days, but they do. It’s much harder to see fish rising when it’s windy, but look on the banks (especially the snow) and if they are hatching you should see them crawling around. If you can’t see noses coming up then fish an unweighted midge larva just under the surface.
