Montana Fall Fishing
‘Tis the season during which we try to get out of the shop and on to the water to enjoy some Montana fishing before winter arrives. It’s is the time of year when Brown Tout spawn, leaves have changed, nights are cold, and the skies remind us of why this is called Big Sky Country. No matter how often we get out to fish, it just never seems like we have done it enough! So much water and so much country to fish and explore is just out our front door.
I’ve had the chance to get out quite a few days this fall and am looking forward to a few more this coming week. One of my favorite places to fish this time of year is in Yellowstone National Park, nymphing away for transient Brown Trout in various parts of the park. It can be a surreal setting surrounded by amazing scenery, wildlife and water that is a clean and pure as it gets anywhere in the West.
Winter is coming though! We are expecting some big snows Sunday night, so get out this weekend and enjoy!
