October Means Winter Rates Start on the Spring Creeks
For quite a few years now, one of my favorite things to look forward to each year, has been the switch to Winter Rates on the Paradise Valley Spring Creeks. Every year, from October 15 to April 15, Nelson’s, DePuy’s and Armsrong’s Spring Creeks go to their Winter Rates. $40 a day or $400 for the whole winter season. To have the chance to fish these world famous creeks for just $40 is such a treat to me I can’t really put it into words. All the Creeks limit the number of rods fishing per day, but other than a few warmer weekend days, once in a while, there is plenty of availability. Even though the creeks don’t typically fill up, calling a day or two in advance for reservations is usually advised. DePuy’s has an Availability Calendar online to see if one day might be busier than another.
The contact info for them is Neson’s 406-222-6560, Depuy’s 406-222-0221, and Armstrong’s 406-522-9854
Our Bozeman fly fishing guides and fly shop staff fish these creeks quite often so we usually know and have in stock some of the best patterns for the Spring Creeks and pretty good advise to go with them sometimes. Give us a call at 406-586-2188 or come see us at our Bozeman fly shop if you have any questions about fishing “The Spring Creeks”. They can be challenging at times, but usually worth the few bucks extra for a quality experience.
