OGR15 - Beer, Bullies and BS
This past weekend several of our guides headed to Missoula for the annual Orvis Guide Rendezvous (ORG15). As always there was a lot of informative talks and demos. As well as lots of new products to checkout and try. Including the sweet new Recon rods as well as some new length and line weight combinations. Inevitably though, when you pack 400 guides all together some of them mutiny and go fishing, and we where no exception…
Missoula, like many places in Montana, has excellent fishing just down the road. Our guys headed out and sampled some of the fishing on the Blackfoot and Rock Creek. The water was a little dirty at times and there wasn’t many fish looking up for the Skwalas, March Brown and Baetis, but there were still some nice fish to be had.
For the last several year Orvis has hosted a public outdoor fly fishing festival followed by film show, on the last afternoon of the Rendezvous. There are many vendors, live music, food, beer and many activities and demos. If you’re ever in the area during the Orvis Rendezvous it’s well worth checking out.
