Rally for Public Lands!!
Just yesterday, Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz introduced a bill that would dispose of 3.3 million acres of national public lands. This comes a few weeks after the House of Representatives passed a rules change making it easier for Congress not just to sell off public lands, but to give them away for free.
Here in Montana, Sen. Jennifer Fielder is drafting a resolution requesting transfer of federal lands to the state.
More bad bills threatening our outdoor way of life are certainly on their way at the federal and state levels. That’s why it’s so important for us to unite on behalf of public lands and our outdoor heritage and let our elected officials know: we will not tolerate the exploitation and disposal of our public lands.
If you haven’t already, be sure to sign our petition to keep public lands in public hands.
Also be sure to join us inside the capitol in Helena this Monday, January 30 at noon for the Rally for Public Lands. Featured speakers include Governor Steve Bullock, mountaineering legend Conrad Anker, Simms CEO K.C. Walsh, and TV host and fly fishing guide Hilary Hutcheson.
