Shoshone River Sediment Spill
There is some bad news coming from the Shoshone River in Northwestern Wyoming. During maintenance on the Willwood Diversion Dam a massive amount of sediment was released downstream, killing virtually all of the fish in the in the section below the dam. The extent of the kill will not be fully known until the water clarity improves, but for the moment it looks pretty grim. Hopefully the fishery will be able to rebound, and some of the sediment can be removed with some pulsing flows from further upstream. Perspective is everything, kind of makes our situation with the PKD not seem quite so bad.
