Tuesday’s Tip-Picky Fish
Late summer conditions have been making for some tough fishing. Sizing down your tippet and flies will often result in a few more fish, and I’ve been doing better with patterns tied from natural materials. A good dead-drift can be very important now, so you will have to keep those flies mended. Fish aren’t going to be forgiving about a poorly presented fly. When fishing with hoppers you can try sinking them or giving them a twitch on the surface to provoke a strike. Fishing should improve in a few more weeks as the Brown Trout start gearing up for the spawn, water temperatures cool off and the fishing pressure is relieved.
