Tuesday Ties - Chirono Cone

Lake season is just around the corner! In fact a lot of area lakes and ponds have already iced-off. On that note I though an easy chironomid pattern would be good today.

Hook: Standard scud hook
Bead: White bead
Body: Micro V-Tubing
Thorax: Peacock herl

To start out with slip the white bead on the hook. The white bead is important to this pattern as it represents the gills of the chironomid. Now secure the V-Tubing down the length of the shank and the wrap forward and tie it off.

Now tie in a few pieces of peacock herl and make a thorax behind the bead. Tie off the peacock and finish the fly. That’s it, easy right?
