Start the thread near the hook eye and then tie in some Antron yarn. The amount of Antron will depend on the hook size and how thick you want to body to be. Secure the Antron down the hook shank and return the thread to front of the fly.

Twirl the Antron until it’s in a tight spiral. Then wrap this spun Antron forward to create the body of the fly. Now take a small bunch of deer hair and tease out any under fluff. Now tie in the deer hair on top on the hook somewhere in the middle of the hair. Trim the font of the hair close but leave some length to the back portion to form the wing of the fly. This is a great way to use up some hair that isn’t good for anything else. Now take some Hare’s Ear dubbing, or another natural dubbing, and dub a quick head. Finally finish the fly.
