With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

2016 Montana Fishing RegulationsThe fishing regulations for the 2016 fishing season are changing and being simplified this year throughout Montana, with numerous changes in our Central District. Perhaps the biggest change is that all rivers and streams are now open all year as a general rule. However, there are some exceptions. While this is a nice change that will simplify things and open up more water sooner, many of the waters that were usually closed in the early spring for spawning fish will now be opened to fishing. The temptations will be higher than ever to pester some of those spawning fish. We encourage you to give the fish a chance to make more fish. Watch your step and be aware of where you are wading this spring. Watch out for redds (fish nests), and fish responsibly because “with great power comes great responsibility”.

Make sure you grab a copy of the new 2016 Montana Fishing Regulations to check out all the changes or check out them out online here.
