Yellowstone River Oil Spill
The oil spill on the Yellowstone originated at Laurel, Montana where there isn’t much of a trout population. Trout fishing won’t be affected by the oil because the furthest we ever go downstream for trout is still 30 miles above the origination site for the spill. Unfortunately there are fish such as Sturgeon, Paddle Fish, Goldeye and Smallmouth Bass that do live down there. Hopefully the fish and wildlife populations won’t be affected too badly.
There is a lot of media coverage on this right now, check out this special section of the Billings Gazette to keep up with the state of affairs
