YNP Report 6/3/2021

    Current Conditions

YNP is open once again! The Firehole is the way to go right now. Caddis have been popping off as have the PMD's. Dry fly action has been solid using PMD duns such as the PMD Quill Gordon Parachute, or PMD Last Chance Cripples. Caddis patterns that have worked include the Crime Scene Caddis or the Olive X2 Caddis. Caddis pupa such as the Mangy Caddis or the Shop Vac has been great subsurface. Crackback PMD's and PMD Bubblebacks have been my favorites subsurface. A black bugger would also be a great option to pick up a few fish. Keep an eye out if you are on the lower reaches of the river for salmonflies!

The Park is closed to fishing for the season. Get out there next year!

Remember to pinch barbs and no lead in Yellowstone National Park.
