In general, we recommend that you watch the weather leading up to your trip and be prepared for a variety of conditions including cool mornings, afternoon thundershower, and sunny mid-days. We are in the mountains and weather can dramatically change throughout the day.
Our guides provide the basic fly-fishing gear for all of our guided trips, including waders, boots, fly rod, reels, lines, terminal tackle, and flies. Guests should plan on bringing their personal essentials such as rain gear, sunglasses, neoprene socks (if wet wading), hats, gloves, packs, sunscreen, insect repellant and any special equipment such as wading staffs for example. Keep in mind that we only waders and wading boots in the spring and fall, so be sure to bring footwear that you are comfortable getting wet or dirty when loading and unloading from the boast during the day.
Below, we have some recommendations to help with ideas in terms of what to bring (weather dependent) on your guided fly-fishing trip to Bozeman, Montana. You will notice several gear and terminal tackle, we provide this list to help show you some of our preferred choices in case you want to bring your own gear.
If you would like to make purchases prior to your guided trip, we ship for free throughout the lower 48, or just select “In-Store Pickup: at checkout and we will have everything ready for you upon your arrival.
