The SDF (Sealed Drag Fresh) is a scaled-down version of the award-winning saltwater titan featuring similar porting and a stainless steel / carbon fluoropolymer drag system. The SDF boasts an enormous amount of drag, an adjustment range almost three times greater than its predecessor, and virtually zero start up inertia.

You can build your own Abel SDF online using Abel’s Reel Building Tool. This tool is a great way to visualize your reel before purchasing as it will render images showing all of the available finishes available in both ported and solid versions. Customize your reel even further by picking out the drag knob and reel handle finish as well.

Abel recommends that you throughly rinse products in running, lukewarm freshwater after each day of use. After rinsing, take a toothbrush to the 90-degree angles (i.e. foot, counterweight, handle, etc). It’s also a good idea to spray it with WD-40, and wipe it clean with a paper towel. WD-40 will not harm components or your flyline, backing, or mono. For cork drag reels, it is not necessary to lubricate the cork on the drag plate; this only needs to be done if it does not feel just as smooth as a brand new reel.

NOTE: Please follow the directions on the form. Your Abel® product is carefully inspected, one at a time, by an expert. All product service fees go towards product inspection, diagnosis of components, cleaning, lubing, and returning to factory specifications. Return ground shipping via UPS® or FedEX® is also included.

Normal turnaround time is 2-3 weeks from receipt. Upon receipt, Abel will inspect your reel and determine whether your case qualifies under our warranty. For repairs not covered by the warranty, a quote will be provided for approval before proceeding with any repair(s).

Warranty

Abel® products carry a lifetime warranty that covers the repair or replacement of parts due to defect in material or workmanship.

*Our warranty is valid for the original owner only, i.e., it is not transferable and is in effect only for products purchased through an Authorized Abel Dealer. Abel will determine if the product is covered under this warranty due to faulty material or workmanship. Parts for older or discontinued models may be replaced with parts for current models. Colors may vary between original and replacement parts. eBay® and any other similar auction or discount arenas do not carry any warranty.

For repairs not covered by the warranty, a quote will be provided upon request for approval before proceeding with any repair(s).
