Toray® fabric technology was developed specifically for fishing waders. The QuadraLam™ fabric featured in the Freestone® wader is a heavy-duty engineered fabric with a micro-porous waterproof coating that utilizes 2-layer coated fabric, a single membrane layer and a tricot backer to offer improved durability.

The #1 tip to prolonging the life of a wader is drying your waders. It is important to dry your waders out after each use. We recommend drying the inside first and then the outside. When drying the outside you can pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry and then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader
Use a front load machine or hand wash. Use cold water and normal detergent that does not contain bleach. Once you have washed the waders make sure you dry them properly start by drying the inside first. Never put your waders in the dryer, the heat will adversely affect the seam tape on your waders and will void your warranty.
The right fit goes a long way to extending the life of your wader. When determining your size, use exact body measurements as Simms has already provided extra room for layering and movement within the size matrix.
Do not store inside your car for long periods of time excess heat will damage your waders.
USE A MAT
Always put your waders on using a protective mat to shield the neoprene feet from rocks.
Do not wear jeans under your waders. Jeans are highly abrasive wearing on your waders from the inside out. Furthermore, cotton pants like jeans and sweatpants do not transfer moisture away from your body. The use of proper layering under your waders will help wick moisture away from your body and will enable the waders to breathe.
Most stain removers will work fine on our waders. Do not use products that contain bleach.

2019 Simms Warranty & Repair Policy Update
At Simms we are always working to improve our customer experience and we have some important changes in the Simms Guarantee and our warranty & repair policy. On January 1, 2019 Simms will introduce a new Simms Guarantee and implement changes to our warranty & repair policy that will ensure Simms remains the brand of choice for anglers in North America. The updated Simms Guarantee and policies listed below will ensure that consumers can purchase Simms with confidence in the reliability of our products and that if they have a warranty claim they’ll receive quick service at a fair price.
THE SIMMS GUARANTEE (NEW) If your SIMMS product fails due to a defect in workmanship or materials, we’ll repair or replace your gear and get you back on the water as soon as possible. If your Simms product fails due to excessive wear, accidents involving barbed wire or camp fires, or the natural breakdown of materials over extended time, we’ll make every effort to repair your gear for a reasonable fee.
Q: Why is Simms making a change to its guarantee?
A: The language surrounding the previous guarantee was ambiguous and open to interpretation, particularly the phrase “expected lifetime”. Some consumers took this phrase to mean “their (the consumer’s) expected lifetime” and not the expected lifetime of the materials from which each product is constructed. The new guarantee is a clear statement that eliminates interpretation/ambiguity and reinforces consumer confidence when purchasing Simms.
Q: When does this policy go into effect and for what territory?
A: The new guarantee goes into effect on January 1, 2019 for all consumers in North America.
Q: What changes with the wader warranty & repair policy?
A: Simms is extending its commitment to replace any new Simms wader that leaks from 30 days to 60 days. Simms will also offer free repairs to all waders in the first year of ownership (previous policy was that Simms only offered one free repair in the first year of ownership). For warranty & repair claims outside of the 1st year of ownership. Simms will repair waders and ship waders back to North American customers prepaid for a flat $60 fee. The customer/shop is still responsible for the shipping to Simms. (Warranty issues are repaired at no charge regardless of time of ownership).This is particularly beneficial to our Canadian customers who often faced high shipping costs when repairedwaders were sent back to Canada from Bozeman, MT. The customer will be responsible for the shipping cost of getting waders to our Bozeman repair center.
Q: Where will wader repairs take place?
A: All wader repairs will continue to be performed at our facility in Bozeman, MT by Simms associates that have received extensive training in wader repair.
Q: What are the benefits of the new wader Warranty & Repair policy to the consumer?
A: Consumers can buy with confidence knowing that waders that leak in the first 60 days will be replaced and that all repairs in the first year are on Simms. Moving to a flat repair charge/shipping fee after the 1st year of ownership will also help us to reduce the turnaround time on warranty & repair claims and get consumers back on the water faster.
Q: How has the process of filing a warranty and repair claim changed?
A: There is no change to the process of filing a warranty & repair. We will be making updates for the customer/dealer facing web interface in in the first half of 2019.
Q: How will 30-day product exchanges now be handled?
A: The 30 day no questions asked exchange policy is being extended to 60 days. Thirty days was not always a long enough period to get products out on the water. Moving to a 60-day return policy will allow consumers to buy with confidence knowing that if they are not satisfied with the performance of their Simms gear, they can trade it in for new product.
Q: What will Simms do when waders can no longer be repaired?
A: Sadly, not all waders can be repaired. All waders deemed unrepairable will be returned to the consumer with a personalized letter noting the determination along with a breakdown of the evaluation and contact information for our warranty & repair team in the case that the consumer needs any further explanation.
Q: What about situations where there is no quality issue, but a consumer is dissatisfied with his/her used Simms product?
A: Replacements or credit for non-warranty issues will be at the discretion of the Simms team as it has been in the past.
