Simms Solarflex Hoody Shirts for men, featuring Fins & Feathers Logo art sublimation.

A Montana fly-fishing guide staple, the Simms Solarflex Hoody protects from the sun with UPF protection and is super breathable for summer comfort. We pretty much live in these shirts and tend to favor the use of the built-in hood rather than a buff or sun-mask on hot summer, days.  Although not technically a base-layer, our guides wear these as a base layer on cold, sunny days as the hood adds sun protection and easily fits over a beanie or insulated cap.

From Simms

When the sweltering sun threatens to end a long afternoon of tossing carefree casts, cover yourself with the Simms SolarFlex® Hoody for men. The quick-drying comfort and UPF 50 sun protection of lightweight COR3 fabric lets you keep chasing that elusive 2-footer through the dog days of summer. The durable and flexible sleeve construction supports a range of movement, letting you cast from any angle. The hoodie features a flat-seam finish that creates a plush, next-to-skin feel.

  • Products using the COR3™ Technology fabric finish have a UPF rating of 30 or greater, properties to minimize odor and outstanding wicking performance for important moisture management. The anti-odor finish helps control odors caused by a wide range of microorganisms (mold, mildew, algae, yeast) is compatible with virtually all fabrics. All of our performance cotton clothing utilizing COR3™ also feature COR3™ EZ. The "EZ" means easy care and indicates that garments featuring this treatment will travel well and resist wrinkles.

  • UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed.  A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through.  This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly.  All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.
