Lodging Details
Located a short drive from the capital of Freeport, East End Lodge features immaculate grounds and air-conditioned cottages only seconds away from the lodge’s marina. Comprised of a primary lodge and nearby cottages, East End offers one of the most modern and comfortable lodge experiences in all of The Bahamas. 

The air-conditioned main lodge features a small sitting area, a well-stocked bar with stools, and a full dining area where meals are shared family style. After each fishing day, guests can opt to enjoy the spacious bar area complete with a high-definition flat-screen television, or head outside to enjoy the ocean view. Adirondack chairs line the lodge’s spacious deck overlooking the crushed coral courtyard featuring a large fire pit, tiki hut, and nearby marina. 

East End has six single and four double occupancy rooms, all featuring comfortable queen-sized beds and full furnishings. Each room contains a full bath with granite countertops, walk-in showers, and separate commode rooms for added privacy. Guests have ample space for their belongings, including night stands, large dressers, and closet space. 

Food and Beverages
Breakfast is made-to-order and served in the main dining room. Customized, packed cooler lunches are served on the water, with guests selecting from several lunch options the day prior. Dinners are served with complimentary wine and feature a mix of Bahamian-style dishes that include fresh seafood, chicken, pork, salads, homemade soups, and a variety of side dishes. Here in the “Conch Cracking Capital of the World,” the conch dishes are as fresh as they get! All meals can be prepared to your liking; the kitchen staff will always take great care of you.

Typical Length of Stay
There are no specific transfer days at the lodge, so you can stay for any number of days or weeks. Flights arrive and depart Freeport every day of the week from several cities in the Eastern U.S.

Non-Angling Activities and Options
East End Lodge is primarily a fishing-focused destination, but Lodge staff always do their best to accommodate non-anglers with activities like snorkeling, kayaking, birdwatching, blue hole tours, nature tours, and island tours. Nearby McLean’s Town has very limited retail opportunities but the larger town of Freeport is just an hour away and has shopping, golf, numerous water sports, beautiful beaches, and a casino. The Lodge can arrange a taxi to get you there and back.

Internet / Communications
Wi-Fi is available for guests. Cell phone service is available for most U.S. guests depending on your service plan.

How To Get There
Fly direct daily from Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Palm Beach, and several other U.S. cities to Freeport’s Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO) via United, Bahamas Air, American, Delta, and smaller charter companies. You can also fly direct to Nassau International Airport (NAS) via Western Air, LeAir, or Bahamas Air.

Arrival and Departure Details / Times
Round-trip transportation between the airport and East End Lodge is included in the price of your package. Late arrivals and early departures can be accommodated based on your flights.

Documents Required
All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport that does not expire within six (6) months of trip dates. Please be sure that your passport has at least two blank, unstamped pages remaining in the back, and that it is not torn, de-laminated, or damaged in any way. No visas or inoculation are required for U.S. citizens.

Minors Traveling Without Both Parents
All children 18 years of age or younger accompanied by only one parent or legal guardian must have a NOTARIZED letter of consent from the other parent stating the child/children have his/her permission to travel. Single parents need NOTARIZED documentation of divorce or a spousal death certificate. Unaccompanied Minors require a NOTARIZED letter of consent signed by both parents.

General Information
Head guide Cecil Leathen has built a team of the island’s top guides who are professional, informative, and fun to fish with. They pride themselves on keeping you on fish any time of year. Since the flats are so close to the Lodge, boat travel time is minimal. The eastern horn of the island has five large bights that travel northeast to southwest. This provides protection from the wind if needed, and more importantly, enables the guides to fish optimal tides throughout the day — a rare situation for any flats destination. Very few saltwater fishing destinations offer such a luxury, all due to the unique geographic location of East End and the expansive network of bights, creeks, and mangrove estuaries around the lodge.

In addition to having all-day access to fishable water, the surrounding deep, cool water surrounding East End produces bonefish upwards of 5 to 10-pounds. When fishing from the boat, fish tend to be slightly more aggressive and respond to well-placed flies. Delicate presentations and longer leaders are required for wade fishing, and if you prefer to wade fish, there are still ample opportunities for stalking schools and singles over the traditional Bahamian white sand flats.

While never a guarantee, East End is in the top tier of lodges offering legitimate opportunities for permit in addition to big bonefish. The deeper water surrounding the oceanside flats fosters a healthy environment for big permit to enter the flats and feed, and fish in excess of 20 pounds are common. Tarpon are a possibility during the warmer months, making East End an excellent option for anglers who want to target multiple species. Along with the larger-than-average permit, anglers can also target barracuda, sharks, jacks, snapper, and several other species in these East End waters.

Boats and Equipment
Guides run 16-foot Dolphin Super Skiffs with 85HP Yamahas, complete with poling platforms, poles, rod storage, coolers with plenty of ice, and cushioned seats. We recommend you bring your own gear, including rods, reels, wading boots, flies, and all terminal tackle. The Lodge does have rods and reels available for anglers to use if needed.

All rates below are per person and quoted in US Dollars. Remember that Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with the lodge or outfitter.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS
For all cancellations, written notice must be sent to and received by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, LLC. For cancellations outside of 90 days from beginning (arrival date) of the trip, the full trip amount minus a lodge cancellation fee of $100 per person from the lodge in addition to a $100.00 per person cancellation fee charged by Yellow Dog Flyfishing can be refunded, or a full credit applied to a future trip booked within one year. No refund will be given for trips cancelled inside of 90 days from start of trip, regardless of reason. If a cancelled package is resold by either the lodge or by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, then a refund in the amount the trip was re-sold for will be sent minus a $200.00 processing fee per guest charged by the lodge in addition to a $100.00 per person cancellation fee charged by Yellow Dog Flyfishing. East End Lodge and Yellow Dog strongly recommend that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance for your trip. East End Lodge will not refund payments in the event of poor weather.  However, in the event of a hurricane warning issued for the area in which the lodge is located, the lodge would possibly allow rescheduling (which is at the sole discretion of the lodge). Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for these packages. Once again, Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance for this trip.

Payment Terms for All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings  
Unless otherwise noted on your invoice, for all trips less than 90 days out, full payment is required after receipt of the confirmation email to secure guides and reservations. For trips outside of 90 days, a 50% deposit is required upon receipt of confirmation email to confirm your reservations.
